Scammers with NO customer service.

So here are the true hidden facts about Parcel 2 Go. They negotiate low prices with International Couriers such as DHL, TNT etc so they get the business in the UK. They do this in the knowledge their customers will be scammed at the overseas destination. When this happens they blame Customs but that is not the truth. In many cases goods should not be declared to customs but they are voluntarily declared in order to make money.

This is how it works. In my case I used TNT and bought a three day service from UK to Thailand for some spectacles I had left behind following a recent visit. These were personal effects which I had owned for around 12 months. TNT collected them and eventually after some delays got them to Bangkok. They then spent a further day in Customs although as personal effects they should have passed straight through after an X ray examination that they were as stated on package.

On receipt they had not been opened but a customs charge of 3oo bhat was applied (around £7). When checking with Thailand Customs they stated that TNT voluntarily declared the amount for duty and they often never saw the parcel or its contents. TNT then add a handling charge, in my case 450 bhat (around £10) to the account which you have to pay before they will hand over the package. It is true Customs get some of the money less a “commission” for handling by TNT and as the Chief Inspector said – “nobody in Thailand refuses free money”.

I raised the matter with parcel3Go who state on seperate occasions, with different people, Lisette and Sami, that this was a customs only matter and to raise it with customs. When I explained that the customs charge was 300 bhat and that TNt had added more money they insisted it was “Customs”. Thailand Customs have confirmed that it is nit their responsibility as they issue an official receipt for all moneys, which is true as I have in the sum of 300 bhat.

In summary by being involved and refusing to investigate this rip off Parcel2Go are culpable in this mega fraud.

Avoid at all lengths – con merchants like this should never be allowed to profit no matter what their size.

I have reported Eamon Faulkner to Bolton Trading Standards who have asked me to fax the relevant documentary evidence to them. I will update this thread once I her back.

  1. I’ve just had a bad experience with them. Can we do anything? Can we target the Major delivery companies that use them?

  2. I also had P2G blame late delivery on customs and it wasn’t held in customs at all… it wasn’t delivered until 5 days after their estimated due date because the word ‘street’ was missing it’s last letter because their computer’s data entry box wasn’t long enough for it to be typed in full so they did not put it out for delivery because there was an ‘incorrect address’ on it!!!! Despite the fact that a two year old could work out that ‘stree’ would probably mean ‘street’ and the fact I had given the name, phone number and email of the recipient they made no attempt to clarify the address and eventually the receiver contacted them and resolved the query so it could be put out for delivery. DPD (who were the subcontractor on this occasion) admitted it was terrible service (because along with delivery fiasco they had also failed to collect so I had delivered it to their depot for them!) and DPD offered me a refund. P2G were furious DPD had admitted the truth to me because it left their ‘customs delay which we have no control over’ lie in tatters… they still won’t agree to refund me as it’s ‘not their policy’ ‘even if I were a BIG company spending lots of money with them’ they would not help me further. And they wonmt refer me to a manager because the ‘manager will tell me the same thing as they have and it’s a waste of time’ ? what a joke. So annoyed…
